God’s Love We Deliver Chosen as a Medically Tailored Meal Provider for New York State Department Of Health In Lieu of Services (ILS) Pilot

We are proud to have been selected as a home-delivered Medically Tailored Meal provider for the State’s In Lieu of Services (ILS) pilot. God’s Love We Deliver has significantly expanded the number of healthcare partnerships we have in recent years.  Most recently, we have partnered with insurance plans to address food insecurity and malnutrition to address what are known as the “social determinants of health.”

Through our education and policy efforts we are thrilled that God’s Love has been selected by the New York State Department of Health as one of the medically tailored meal providers that will provide home-delivered Medically Tailored Meals to Medicaid-eligible members living with at least one of the following diagnoses: cancer, diabetes, heart failure, and/or HIV/AIDS.  With this exciting opportunity, we’ll be able to feed more people that need our services.

We already have our In Lieu of Services (ILS) initiative with Amida Care Inc., which is the first of its kind in New York State that incorporates Medically Tailored Meals.

The pilot will serve individuals that are 18 or older and requires that their Medically Tailored Meals be approved by a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN). Members referred will undergo a nutritional assessment to address medical diagnoses, symptoms, allergies, medication management, and/or side effects, to ensure the best possible health outcomes.  Members will be served for a 6-month period and the New York State Department of Health will evaluate the pilot while concentrating on improved health outcomes overall cost savings.
