Volunteering time is an impactful way to support the causes that matter most to us. This year, Hearst colleagues have given their time to nearly 300 organizations, with God’s Love We Deliver being one of them.
On November 29, the 10th anniversary of Giving Tuesday, Hearst supported a range of nonprofit organizations at Hearst Tower in New York and across the U.S., paying it forward in meaningful ways.
Giving Tuesday is a movement that has inspired more than $1 billion in charitable giving. In New York City, Hearst’s day of volunteering opportunities got started with God’s Love We Deliver as colleagues crafted greeting cards with uplifting holiday messages which will be delivered to GLWD homebound clients with their meals throughout December.
“Baking, personalizing and delivering birthday cakes, holiday treats and cards to our clients, their children and their senior caregivers is one of the most special things we do at God’s Love,” noted Lauren Jacobs, key donor associate and experience liaison at God’s Love We Deliver, who works closely with Hearst colleagues and the Hearst Gives Back team.
“We are grateful to the Hearst community for supporting our mission to nourish New Yorkers living with illness,” Jacobs continued. “From organizing group volunteer shifts in our kitchen to decorating heartfelt cards for our clients, Hearst participation ensures we continue to serve our neighbors in need. The care and compassion each Hearst volunteer put into helping our clients makes all the difference.”
