Hosting the 2025 Food Is Medicine Coalition Accelerator Program
At God’s Love We Deliver, we are committed to expanding access to medically tailored meals (MTMs) and advancing health equity. One of the keyways we do this through our leadership in the Food Is Medicine Coalition (FIMC) Accelerator Program, which empowers non-profit food providers with the knowledge and tools to establish and grow their own medically tailored meal programs. This year, we were thrilled to welcome the 5th cohort to our SoHo headquarters for an intensive three-day training session.
This cohort includes five inspiring organizations: The Joy Bus from Arizona, FAITH CDC from Indiana, Feeding Tampa Bay from Florida, Meals on Wheels of Greenville from South Carolina, and FareShare from Australia. Their participation in this 10-month program marks an exciting step forward in expanding the reach of medically tailored meals to new communities both in the United States and abroad.
The Accelerator Program is a collaborative effort, co-led by God’s Love alongside Community Servings in Boston, the Center for Health, Law and Policy Innovation at Harvard Law School, the Nonprofit Finance Fund, and FIMC. Throughout the program, participants receive training and technical assistance via webinars, multi-day virtual and in-person sessions, and direct coaching. By providing a comprehensive, start-to-finish roadmap for launching a medically tailored meal program, the Accelerator Program ensures that these organizations are well-equipped to serve individuals experiencing severe and chronic illness, and malnutrition.
During our in-person gathering in New York, participants had the opportunity to learn directly from various departments at God’s Love, including Volunteer Services, Kitchen, Fulfillment, Delivery, Philanthropy, IT/Systems, and Policy & Planning. These sessions provided crucial insights into the best practices and lessons learned, offering guidance as our cohort members prepare to implement their own programs for the first time.
As we look ahead, we are excited to see these organizations take the next steps toward graduation in May. Their work will bring life-saving nutrition interventions to communities that currently lack proper access to medically tailored meals, furthering the mission of food as medicine. We are honored to be part of their journey and can’t wait to see the impact they will have in their respective regions.
