It is with deep gratitude and fondness that I share the passing of Richard Ophals, a cherished volunteer and steadfast supporter of God’s Love We Deliver for nearly four decades. Richard passed away peacefully on December 5, 2024, at the age of 90, surrounded by his loved ones.
His commitment to our mission and the thousands of lives we serve will always be remembered.
I first met Richard 16 years ago when I joined God’s Love as one of our Volunteer Services Coordinators. From the very start, his kindness, generosity, and dedication were clear. Over the years, Richard became not just a valued volunteer but a true friend to so many of us at God’s Love.
His commitment to our mission and the thousands of lives we serve will always be remembered. In honor of Richard’s extraordinary contributions, a group of friends and volunteers have come together to raise funds for a Tile for Love in our kitchen, where Richard gave so much of his time. If you’d like to contribute to this tribute, you can make a donation in Richard’s name here.
Richard will be deeply missed, but his legacy of compassion and service will continue to inspire all of us at God’s Love.
With love and gratitude.
