On Friday, June 7, The Avenues School visited God’s Love We Deliver with students from their community service class. The 14 students have been researching the history, mission, and work of God’s Love and visited our building in SoHo to get hands-on experience with volunteering. Students helped package breakfast kits for our clients and toured our 10,000 square foot kitchen. They saw firsthand how we prepare, cook, and package 15,000 medically tailored meals every weekday.
Our team members spoke about the services provided to our clients, their caregivers, and children, including how our Registered Dietician Nutritionists tailor our clients’ meal plans and support their health with unlimited nutrition education and counseling. Students also learned how God’s Love is a part of the support system for our clients health related social needs, as we work to address food insecurity amongst those who are sick.
Our team spoke with students about our dedicated staff and volunteers, our specialty programs for Thanksgiving and our Winter Feast, and the personalized birthday cake program that makes sure every client, caregiver, and child on our program gets a cake on their birthday!
Thank you to Avenues School and their community service students for their service and support!
