Well this has certainly been quite a month! After a very busy fall and even busier holiday season, we always look forward to the relaxing, uneventful weeks that follow before we start gearing up for the spring. Unfortunately, as you’ve probably noticed, that has not been the case this year. Mother Nature had other plans in mind and we’ve been slammed with snowstorm after snowstorm, making our day-to-day operations very challenging. But as always, our phenomenal volunteers came to our rescue! Almost every week it seemed as though we had to send emergency call-outs to get extra help in the kitchen, on the vans and on the slippery streets making walking deliveries. We can’t tell you how much we appreciate everyone who dropped everything and came to our aid, as well the volunteers who were so understanding when we had to cancel shifts at the last minute. It’s been a very trying winter so far, but the most important thing is we’ve been able to keep feeding our clients and we certainly could not have done that without our amazing volunteers. Thank you for everything and here’s hoping Punxsutawney Phil was right and we have an early spring on the way!
