National Nutrition Month 2025: Food Connects Us

National Nutrition Month

National Nutrition Month, an annual campaign by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, is celebrated every March. During this month, everyone is invited to learn more about nutrition, healthy lifestyle behaviors and informed food choices.

This year, the theme is “Food Connects Us,” which celebrates how food is a way to connect with our friends and family, as well as to other communities and cultures. By understanding how a meal is prepared, where the ingredients were sourced, and who it was made by, we not only can better understand what factors influence the foods we eat, but also how food can directly impact our health.

At God’s Love We Deliver, our work is all about the food that connects us. This National Nutrition Month, we highlight all the meaningful ways that food connects us with our clients and the greater God’s Love community.

It all starts with the meals. The Nutrition Services Department, including our Culinary RDN, collaborates closely with Executive Chef André Daquigan and his stellar team, to craft meals that meet our clients’ nutrition needs and support their health goals. But more than that, inspired by our culturally diverse God’s Love community, and with the talent and richly varied backgrounds of the kitchen team, our menus reflect the foods and cultures of our shared home of New York City. As Chef Andre likes to say, the God’s Love’s Culinary team “looks like New York City, and we cook for New York City.”

Our Nutrition team works with clients during nutrition assessment and counseling sessions to ensure that nutrition needs are met and that clients find comfort in the foods that nourish them. God’s Love RDNs come from many professional and cultural backgrounds and include bilingual English-Spanish and English-Mandarin speakers, and several of our RDNs hold specialty credentials in specific areas of nutrition, including cancer, diabetes and older adults. Our RDNs advocate for our clients’ experience and foster their nutrition knowledge, ensuring that the food that nourishes also builds community.

Food connects us at God’s Love We Deliver.
