Our Largest Delivery Ever: Delivering 140,000 Shelf-Stable Meals in One Weekend

This past weekend, we were joined by 150 generous volunteers in their own cars helping us make our largest delivery ever, of 140,000 emergency shelf-stable meals – fourteen days of each client’s daily nutritional needs —  to nearly 5,000 individuals living with serious life altering illnesses in New York City, and nearby Hudson County, New Jersey, Westchester, Nassau, and Suffolk Counties. See the local television coverage from NY1 and WNBC on our YouTube page.

God’s Love has been recognized as an Essential Services Provider by the NYC Office of Emergency Management, allowing us to continue functioning during the pandemic. As most of our clients are elderly and all are living with underlying conditions, our medically tailored meals are critical to their well-being. Last week we cooked and home-delivered 50,000 meals. As we race to add nearly 2,000 new clients to our program, our team decided to send two weeks of shelf-stable food to every client on program so that our clients can remain nourished in the unlikely event that we are unable to deliver.

We send a special thanks to Stellar Management for donating their space and to our local precinct for providing permits for our operation. We also thank Canard, Inc.; Mr. Porter and Net-A-Porter & Nepjun for donating vehicles to help deliver. Our neighbors at Trader Joe’s provided support with equipment for which we are grateful and PFG generously discounted costs of food items. And finally, we thank Douglas Elliman for their on-site support.

As we work through the pandemic, God’s Love is committed to doing all we can to ensure our vulnerable neighbors receive the critical nutrition they need.
