During the height of the pandemic, Maura began volunteering doing walking and driving deliveries for God’s Love. As she went from home to home, Maura experienced first-hand how each delivery has a meaningful and joyful impact in our clients’ lives. Since then, Maura has been a passionate advocate for God’s Love and particularly looks forward to participating in the Race to Deliver. Every year, Maura feels motivated to push her fundraising goals at the Race because she believes in the healing power of medically tailored meals. In her own words:
“The quality of ingredients and nutrition each meal has…It’s food that I would feel so great having a loved one, or myself, eat. I strongly believe that everyone, especially those who are sick, should have the best food as part of their care.” -Maura
While Maura loves pushing her fundraising goals each year, what really draws her back to the run is the infectious energy in Central Park on Race day. She loves banding together with her fellow genLOVE Executive Committee members and volunteers around a shared goal to nourish her neighbors. To join Maura and thousands of other participants for this 4-mile run/walk in Central Park on November 20, register for the Race to Deliver.
