God’s Love We Deliver mourns the passing of our former colleague Emily (Caras) Snyder, who passed away suddenly on September 17, 2020.

Emily joined the staff of God’s Love We Deliver in 2018. Trained as a registered dietitian nutritionist at Cornell University, Emily previously worked at the Pew Charitable Trusts in Washington, D.C. and the Center for Science in the Public Interest. Emily always worked in the non-profit industry because she wanted to make a difference in the world and give of herself to others. She surely did that at God’s Love, as Executive Assistant to the President & CEO and Manager of Special Projects. She worked directly with every single department, supported Policy and Program projects, worked closely with the Board of Directors, Board of Trustees and Executive Team, and more. Emily brought her thousand-watt smile, brilliant mind, superb skills and generous heart to everything she did at God’s Love. We were thrilled for her in 2019 when she and her husband Charley had twins Olivia and Caroline, and loved her photos and stories about the girls growing up.

Everyone at God’s Love knew Emily to be a person of great grace, kindness and helpfulness, and someone truly invested in the well-being of our clients, volunteers, and community. We feel so lucky to have had the time we had with her and will miss her greatly as the years unfold. We send all our love to her husband Charley and her daughters Olivia and Caroline, and to the Caras and Snyder extended families.

Emily will be forever in our hearts.
