Last week we were happy to honor the City’s request that we turn off our air conditioning in order to save energy during the surprising and overwhelming New York heatwave.
What a weekend! In between celebrations and general summertime fun, the majority of us in New York City, New Jersey, and the Northeast were busy trying to find ways to cool down from the oppressive summer heat and humidity. When temperatures are sky-high, humidity feels suffocating and air conditioners are running on full-blast, we at God’s Love would like to say thank you to all of our God’s Love family for coming out and volunteering, always lending your unwavering support. We cannot achieve our mission without each and every single one of you, day in and day out, rain or shine, hot or cold.
This year has been a tricky one, weather-wise, and God’s Love has seen incredible dedication in all directions from a generous and dedicated base of donors, supporters, family and friends. Thank you for seeing us through our unexpected snowstorms this past winter and for seeing us through such a hot and humid summer.
Thank you, every time you make a delivery, every time you battle the heat of the kitchen, every time you knock on a client’s door when temperatures are so high. Our work is personal and life-affirming, made possible by you and your heart. Thank you for helping us always be there, for our vulnerable neighbors in need.
God’s Love will always be there. Without pretense. Without fail. And, most importantly, with love.
