We are very fortunate to have received a generous donation of Chobani Greek Yogurt. A variety of flavors, these yogurts will be sent to our clients in their upcoming deliveries. Greek yogurt is a wonderful addition to our meals, and while some clients may not be immediately familiar with Greek yogurt, we are excited that they will have the opportunity to try and enjoy it. It is a highly nutritious food that is a good source of protein, calcium and probiotics. Greek yogurt can be eaten right out of the cup or in many different ways including:
Add fruit and/or nuts to make a healthy snack
As a base for smoothies – add whatever ingredients you like (see recipe below)
In place of sour cream or cheese on beans, eggs or chili
Blended into soups to make them creamier and to add calories and protein
Here is a generic recipe for a yogurt smoothie that can be added to according to taste. See our recipe page for additional ideas!
Yogurt Smoothie:
1 cup Greek yogurt, flavor of your choice
½ cup frozen or fresh berries of your choice
1 banana, frozen or fresh
2 ice cubes (optional)
2 Tablespoons honey (optional)
Purée all ingredients in a blender until smooth. Serve and enjoy!
