Behind the Scenes with our RDNs

Happy National Nutrition Month! Our team of RDNs works to improve the health and well-being of our clients with serious illnesses every day. Here’s how they do it!

We provide medical nutrition therapy to all of our clients to help them manage their illnesses and improve quality of life

We coordinate agency food safety and sanitation practices making sure that food travels safely within the building and to our clients’ homes.

We train dietetic interns, and we also mentor nutrition students.

We provide nutrition workshops and cooking demos for the community in our teaching kitchen, and also through teleconferences and webinars.

We develop nutrition standards and work with the Culinary team to create menus that are appropriate for our clients living with serious illnesses.

We coordinate our grocery bag program that provides non-perishable items, local produce and nutrition education to clients living with HIV.

We write and publish nutrition booklets on a variety of topics. Our books are available in English and Spanish and can be downloaded at our website.

We hope you enjoyed this behind the scenes look at all the hard work our Nutrition Services Department puts in to make sure our clients are receiving the right meals and nutrition education and counseling they need!
