At God’s Love We Deliver, Pride Month is a time of celebration, reflection, and community engagement. Celebrated each June, Pride Month honors the LGBTQ+ community and commemorates the Stonewall Riots of 1969. These riots, sparked by a police raid at the Stonewall Inn in New York City, marked a pivotal moment in the fight for LGBTQ+ rights. The courage and activism displayed during the riots ignited a global movement, leading to greater visibility, advocacy, and acceptance for LGBTQ+ individuals. Today, Pride Month is not only a celebration of love and diversity but also a reminder of the ongoing struggle for equality and justice. This June, we were thrilled to collaborate with several incredible organizations, spreading love and support through our famous brownies, co-branded to celebrate each occasion. Here’s a look at the partnerships that made this Pride Month unforgettable:
SAGE (Services & Advocacy for GLBT Elders) is the country’s largest and oldest organization dedicated to improving the lives of LGBTQ+ older adults. Their SAGE Table events create intergenerational connections and foster community among LGBTQ+ individuals of all ages. Back in April, the God’s Love We Deliver Philanthropy Team had the pleasure of volunteering at one such event, and knew our organizations were a perfect match – sharing a deep commitment to bringing hope and dignity to our vulnerable neighbors. Throughout June, we proudly provided our co-branded brownies to these events, adding a sweet touch to meaningful conversations and new friendships formed around the table.
Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS is a vital organization that harnesses the talent and generosity of the American theatre community to raise funds for AIDS-related causes across the United States. One of their most anticipated events is Broadway Bares, a spectacular burlesque show featuring Broadway’s hottest stars. This year’s event – which raised a record-breaking $2,259,134 – transported audiences to the vibrant world of Las Vegas nightlife with the theme Broadway Bares: Hit the Strip. Since 1992, when Jerry Mitchell, a then Broadway dancer, and six friends launched the event, dancing on the bar at New York City’s Splash, Broadway Bares has raised over $28 million for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS. This year, our co-branded brownies were a hit at the event, helping to fuel the energy and enthusiasm that Broadway Bares is known for, while supporting a crucial cause.
The Stonewall National Monument stands as a testament to the resilience and activism of the LGBTQ+ community. The opening of its Visitors Center this June marked a significant milestone, providing a dedicated space for education, reflection, and celebration as the first LGBTQIA+ visitor center within the National Park System. The center will provide visitors with a multifaceted educational experience, hosting a variety of programs including in-person and virtual tours, informative lectures, dynamic exhibitions, a specialized theater area, and inspiring visual arts displays. We were honored to provide our co-branded brownies for this historic occasion, sharing in the grand opening festivities alongside guests like friend and long-time supporter of God’s Love We Deliver Cynthia Erivo as well as Adam Lambert, Gov. Kathy Hochul, Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand, and President and Mrs. Biden.
Taking place in Hudson Yards Public Square & Gardens, Pride Live’s Stonewall Day Concert is a vibrant annual event that commemorates the anniversary of the Stonewall Riots and celebrates the progress of the LGBTQ+ movement. This year, the event marked the 55th anniversary of the Stonewall Riots and featured performances by renowned artists and appearances by influential activists like Christina Aguilera, Angelica Ross, and Laverne Cox. Our co-branded brownies were enjoyed by attendees, adding to the festive atmosphere of this powerful celebration of unity and pride.
A Month of Love and Support
Partnering with these remarkable organizations has been a true honor for God’s Love We Deliver. By providing our co-branded brownies at their events, we’ve been able to contribute to the spirit of Pride Month and support the vital work being done within the LGBTQ+ community. Each bite of our brownies symbolizes our commitment to spreading love, inclusivity, and support to all (not to mention the joy of chocolate!).
We look forward to continuing these partnerships and finding new ways to celebrate and uplift the LGBTQ+ community in the future.
