Introducing our Newest Resource: Breast Cancer Survivorship Booklet

Breast cancer remains the most common cancer among women in the United States. If you have (or have had) breast cancer, you probably want to know if there are things you can do that might lower your risk of cancer recurrence, such as getting or staying active or eating a certain type of diet. Breast cancer is one of the best studied types of cancer, and research has shown there are some things you can do that might be helpful.

The Nutrition Services Department invites you to read our new booklet, Nutrition and Breast Cancer Survivorship, and to join us for a free webinar:
Thursday, October 22
6:00 – 7:00pm
Register for Zoom here

Maintaining a healthy diet is important before, during, and after cancer treatment. Nutritional goals will fluctuate depending on your situation. During treatment, your focus may be on meeting nutrition needs, staying well hydrated, and choosing foods that help with symptom management. After treatment, your focus may shift to lifestyle and eating choices that help prevent cancer recurrence.

In the booklet and in the webinar, Registered Dietitian Nutritionist Holly Mills will share information and tips about:

  • The role of nutrition for the breast cancer survivor
  • Healthy dietary patterns
  • Maintaining a healthy weight
  • Physical activity
  • Supporting bone health
  • Key nutrition recommendations
  • Planning nutritious meals
  • Putting it all together Common questions about nutrition and breast cancer
  • Reputable nutrition resources and supports

We hope you’ll join us for the webinar, attendees will receive a printed copy of the Nutrition and Breast Cancer Survivorship booklet.
