National Nutrition Month 2025: Build Food Connection Across All Stages of Life

National Nutrition Month

National Nutrition Month, an annual campaign by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, is celebrated every March. During this month, everyone is invited to learn more about nutrition, healthy lifestyle behaviors and informed food choices.

This year, the theme is “Food Connects Us,” which celebrates how food is a way to connect with our friends and family, as well as to other communities and cultures. By understanding how a meal is prepared, where the ingredients were sourced, and who it was made by, we not only can better understand what factors influence the foods we eat, but also how food can directly impact our health.

When it comes to health, nutrition makes all the difference through every stage of the life-cycle, from pregnancy through older adulthood. We serve pregnant people, children, young adults and older adults. We also serve clients who are in need of hospice care.

We know that food and nutrition affect the entire family, so we support household health by providing meals for clients, dependent children, and caregivers.

Our standard program allows dependent children through the age of 18 to receive meals. Younger children, up to age 12, receive specific children’s meals that include breakfast and healthy snacks. Older children receive the same types of meals as their parents. And adult caregivers may receive meals as well.

Similarly, we support family health with our Pregnancy and Postpartum program, where pregnant clients with diabetes and/or hypertension receive meals to support their health and their baby’s health during gestation.  This program also provides meals for dependent children and caregivers.

When families are supported, everyone thrives!
