Stavros Niarchos Foundation gifts World Cup tickets to Young Hearts Leadership Council: SCORE!

We convened at Penn Station and rode a packed train to the stadium, absorbing the energy from the fans around us. Surrounded by cheers of “Go ENGLAND!” and “Si se puede!”, we arrived brimming with team spirit.

The first stop was to stadium concessions for a hearty lunch: as ambassadors for God’s Love We Deliver, we know how important a full belly is for having a great day! Though, the nutritious meals cooked by God’s Love feature more vegetables than were available at the stadium concession stand…

After that, it was time to elevate our gear game with a visit to the Merch store. Jerseys, T-shirts, scarves, and rain ponchos donned, we found our seats!
Our view of the pitch was incredible and the action soon got underway. We forgot about the drizzle as the electric energy from the New Yorkers and visiting fans around us supercharged the arena. We clapped for great plays, enthusiastically did the wave, and joined the uproarious cheers when goals were scored.

In the end, England won the day 2-0. But on the train ride home, all of us agreed: the real match MVP was the Stavros Niarchos Foundation for making this experience possible for us. Thank you, from the Young Hearts Leadership Council!
