Last night, friends and family gathered for the Spring Showcase reception to celebrate the 2025-26 cohort of the Young Hearts Leadership Council.
The evening was a heartfelt tribute to this incredible group of young people. Throughout the year, they were volunteers in our kitchen and bakery, led by example by sharing our work with their peers at clubs and school fairs, and were phenomenal ambassadors at events like the Young Hearts Friend Fest, Cookie Decorating Party, Douglas Elliman Ride for Love, and Golden Heart Awards.
The Councilmembers were inquisitive, respectful, and engaged as we learned from members of staff at our monthly meetings, absorbing industry lessons from executives in our Marketing, Nutrition, and Philanthropy teams as well as from the co-founder of God’s Love, Jane Best.
We travelled well together, journeying up the Hudson to Heermance Farms a few weeks back to learn about how they grow and donate fresh produce to God’s Love.
We had full participation at every meeting, tackled large group projects together with respect and openness, and I watched as the group transformed from strangers to friends.
The event had another purpose: it doubled as the world-premiere of the Council’s Spring Showcase Video project! Responding to the question “What do young people bring to God’s Love We Deliver?”, the group conceptualized, cast, and starred in DEVELOPING PROFESSIONALS.

With fondness in our hearts, we bid this cohort adieu and look forward to watching them continue to make major positive impacts on their communities. They have left a huge impression on our organization and set the tone for the future of the Leadership Council initiative. Thank you for everything, YHLC!
