Expanding access to nutritious food is at the heart of our mission at God’s Love We Deliver. We are committed to supporting our communities in overcoming barriers to healthy eating. A recent article in the New York Times discusses how food deserts are a prevalent issue across the country, highlighting the urgent need for access not only to food but nutritious options that support the health and well-being of people and their families. In New York City, lack of access to healthy and nutritious foods when living with a severe or chronic illness can be a significant challenge, making our meal program critical for neighbors living with illness.
At God’s Love We Deliver, our Registered Dietitian Nutritionists work with our clients to ensure they are receiving the best care possible because we believe that food is medicine. We are inspired by those who make home visits to provide care and support for their patients, demonstrating a profound commitment to community health.
Medically tailored meals are instrumental in addressing the issues related to chronic illness and inadequate access to sufficient food. Our registered dietician nutritionists, chefs, volunteers and drivers bring love and compassion to the food they make and deliver. These personal interactions with our clients help to reduce loneliness while significantly improving overall health and well-being. At God’s Love, a home-delivery is more than a meal hand-off- it is a moment to check in on each of our clients, give a hello and a smile, and report back any client-related needs to our team to address.
