Making Points Count with The Points Guy

Recently, I was invited by Clint Henderson, God’s Love volunteer and Senior News Editor at The Points Guy (TPG), to present during one of their monthly sessions called TPG: Charity Chats, an opportunity for TPG employees to learn about various nonprofits and how they can get involved.

It opened with amazing music by Madonna who was at the top of the charts in 1985, the year of our founding at the height of the HIV/AIDS pandemic, which set the mood for a wonderful conversation to follow. I was able to give the TPG team an overview of how we at God’s Love were founded, and highlighting we were built for this moment. From the HIV/AIDS pandemic to today as we endure the COVID–19 pandemic, our clients and their children continue to receive the best nutrition therapy and medically tailored meals, always delivered with love.

I had a chance to follow up with them, and I wondered, why is it important for TPG to give back? Mary Kate Heaney, Communications & Events Manager at TPG expressed, “at TPG, giving back is a part of our DNA. We use our passion for travel, points and miles not only to help our readers but also to impact people and organizations in need. Since 2017, we have raised/donated over 3 million dollars to various nonprofit organizations.” God’s Love received a generous token of love from TPG and it will continue to further our mission of serving our neighbors.

When I asked Clint Henderson, what stood out for him during our chat? He said, “it was incredible to learn that even during the pandemic, God’s Love has not missed one meal delivery … The commitment that the God’s Love team has to their community is very inspiring.”

The chat concluded with an opportunity for their team to ask questions about what is next for God’s Love and how they could support our efforts. I was thrilled to receive such thoughtful questions and expressions of gratitude for what we do. I look forward to collaborating with The Points Guy team again.
