
Christine Apicella is the Chief Financial Officer and is responsible for tracking cash flow, financial planning, analyzing the company’s financial strengths and weaknesses, and proposing corrective actions. Chris oversees finance and accounting and ensures that the company’s financial reports are accurate and completed in a timely manner. She plays a crucial role in steering the financial ship of the organization for the agency.
Prior to this position, Chris served as the CFO at Visiting Nurse and Hospice for Vermont and New Hampshire for 5 years where she led all accounting and finance operations, Medicaid, Medicare, third-party billing, supply chain and procurement improvements. Chris also served as the CFO at the Long Island Federally Qualified Health Center, an organization that is one of our partners in healthcare contracting. There, she led all finance and accounting functions, negotiated Value Based Payment contracts, and supported implementation of innovative technology systems. Chris has also held positions at Nassau University Medical Center, Huntington Hospital, and Peninsula Hospital, and taught courses at Briarcliffe College, Grand Canyon University and Hunter Business School.
Chris received her MBA in Accounting and in Healthcare Administration from St. Joseph’s University, and a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Briarcliffe College. Chris has a blend of technical and soft skills. She is strong in financial analytics and accounting and has a knowledge of financial laws and regulations. Her soft skills, such as leadership, communication, and strategic thinking are equally important, which is a balanced mix to help the agency achieve long-term goals.
