Lauren Varner, Vice President of Philanthropy
Lauren Varner is the Vice President of Philanthropy at God’s Love We Deliver, where she leads the organization’s fundraising, events, and marketing and communications strategy. In her role, Lauren oversees individual and major giving, corporate and foundation partnerships, brand and storytelling, and the organization’s signature events – helping connect supporters, partners, and communities to the mission of nourishing New Yorkers living with serious illness.
With more than 15 years of experience across the nonprofit, government, and corporate sectors, Lauren specializes in building strategic partnerships, driving multimillion-dollar revenue growth, and developing campaigns that inspire broad-based engagement. Before joining God’s Love, she served as Assistant Vice President of Innovation at the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, where she led an international donor and event portfolio and spearheaded enterprise-wide growth initiatives, multichannel campaigns, and next-generation fundraising pilots.
Lauren’s background includes roles with the Office of the Vice President of the United States during the Biden Administration, the Presidential Inaugural Committee, and major brand activations with Fortune 500 companies. This cross-sector experience – spanning advocacy, government, major events, and corporate partnerships – informs her relationship-centered approach and her commitment to mission-aligned, data-driven growth.
Since arriving at God’s Love, Lauren has immersed herself in the heart of the work – grounding her leadership in dignity, care, and connection. She is dedicated to strengthening philanthropic investment, elevating the organization’s storytelling, and expanding partnerships that honor both the scale and the soul of the mission.
She lives in Brooklyn with her husband and their rescue animals.
