Stephen Covello, Chief Philanthropy Officer

Stephen Covello delivers his passion for caring and sharing for others through his position as Chief Philanthropy Officer at the NYC non-profit, God’s Love We Deliver. Stephen spent his career prior to joining God’s Love in the finance sector, working with several boutique private equity firms/hedge funds, specializing in private placements to private investors looking for high impact investment opportunities.

In 2009, after many years in finance, Stephen decided it was time to pursue his “career of a lifetime”. Stephen was offered an opportunity to volunteer at God’s Love We Deliver. On his first day volunteering, Stephen immediately knew he had found a place he excitingly wanted to call home. After 8 months of volunteering daily, when a position became available, he immediately applied; that was fifteen short years ago.

After spending three years working with the passionate & incredible volunteers of God’s Love, Stephen moved into the Major Gifts Officer role where he spent 2 years stewarding and cultivating existing and new relationships for the God’s Love major donor community, the Golden Heart Society. Stephen then moved into the Manager, Partnerships & Key Donors and then into the role of Director of Development, Individual Giving and Major Gifts, leading efforts to develop corporate relationships and supporting major giving efforts by maintaining a portfolio of approximately 400 donors. Stephen also lead initiatives in Planned Giving, The Legacy Society, the Leadership Council and genLOVE (a young professionals group). In 2023, Stephen became the Chief Philanthropy Officer of God’s Love We Deliver.
