Celebrating a Record-Breaking Fiscal Year 2023
Dear Friends,
Our fiscal year ended June 30 and, I am happy to share these outstanding results.. Please see our some of our accomplishments below, and thank you for helping us reach new milestones during the past year!
We are thrilled to announce that this past fiscal year we delivered 3,639,099 medically tailored meals to 12,783 individuals! That is a whopping 30% increase in individuals served and 32% increase in meals delivered from last year, both all-time records.
And that’s not all. See below for more that we achieved, thanks to your support. Together we:
- made over 100,000 communications with clients
- engaged 18,900+ volunteers
- delivered more than 24,000 special holiday meals
- shared 11,350 pieces of nutrition education to our clients and the community
- conducted 7,500+ client intakes
- gave 6,480 nutrition counseling sessions
- spoke with over 3,500 individuals at community partnership events
- engaged 566 volunteer groups
- gave hundreds of tours of our beloved Michael Kors building
- delivered from a fleet of 33 vans
- launched 13 new and expanded healthcare partnership contracts
We also:
- welcomed our Program team to our new space at the Northern Dispensary
- launched our Nutrition Education Portal
- received a 4-star rating from Charity Navigator for the tenth year in a row
- secured press in ABC World News Tonight, The New York Times, AARP and many other outlets
- were featured on the Social Security Administration blog
- launched our first-ever Young Hearts fundraiser
- held our highest-grossing Golden Heart Awards dinner and Love Rocks NYC concert, funding nearly 700,000 medically tailored meals with this success.
- welcomed V.A. Secretary Denis McDonough and Senator Kirsten Gillibrand for a tour and volunteer session as we informed them of our CONNECTED program serving former U.S. military members
and so much more!
Whew! What a year. I am so grateful to our phenomenal staff, our tremendously dedicated volunteers, and to all of you for working with us to provide such wonderful care for New Yorkers living with severe illness.
